![]() ![]() I have a Bak MX4 tonneau cover that I'll still plan to run when the topper is off. This will give me better control if the left or right side isn't lifting at the same speed or goes out of sync. ![]() My thoughts are making the actuators pair to each side, both left and then both right - to two switches. They say they only have the ability to run 2 actuators on one switch, but could potentially pair all 4 to the remote. I've found a company that sells 2 linear actuators with a remote, wiring, and switch. I don't want to spend $1,200 for the EZ Lift kit, so I'll be doing my own thing.īut, I'm going to be doing it by purchasing my own 4 electric actuators, utilizing the rambox cargo rail management system, and using some scrap metal to make the other necessary brackets/adapters. I'm thinking about going off of the Topper EZ Lift design, and doing something like this: From there, I'll be deciding on my plan to make it compatible with my rambox. I'll need to make the 16 hour round trip journey here in the next few weeks. Well, I've purchased an ARE Z-series topper from a guy in Nebraska. Don't understand why they don't offer it on a long box. I could see the ram boxes being handy if you were a contractor, but if I was, I would want an 8' box. Maybe the next truck I will go that route. A couple under bed boxes and the ability to haul two sleds side by side would be nice. I've thought about going the opposite direction and getting a flatbed. Keeps stuff dry if need be and is out of the way in seconds. It just puts stuff in a hard to get to place. ![]() I like the swing out little wheel well tool boxes but never liked the big tool box in the front of the box. Give me an SUV over a truck with a topper any day. Always hated them because then you have to crawl into the truck to get everything that slides forward. The Ram boxes would make that tougher and I wouldn't be able to haul 3 dirt bikes.įor the same reasons, I've never run a topper. I use my truck to haul dirt bikes and snowmobiles. The Ram boxes are something I would never consider personally. ![]()
